The Cape Malay Quarter otherwise known as Bo-Kaap

Bo-Kaap is an area of Cape Town, South Africa formerly known as the Malay Quarter.

It is a former township, situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre and is an historical centre of Cape Malay culture in Cape Town. Its most famous for the old traditional color houses.
This is a great area to take photos and see the houses, mosques and people of the area, but remember these people live here.

Location: Just “above” Cape Town City Bowl
Tips: Please respect their space and privacy. In other words, don’t go climbing on verandas, picking flowers or poking your head in peoples homes.
