30 Things to do in Cape Town
Introducing 30 Things to do in Cape Town Videos by travelvids.tv. Dean Paarman & Darren Barker spent a few weeks experiencing a couple of things that Cape Town has to offer. They have produced over 230 videos in Cape Town and we have selected 30 of them from these three categories: Attractions, Activities and Food & Drink.
Cape Town – Attractions
10 – Paarl Rock and the Afrikaans Language Monument
Travelvids joined up with the Cape Town Twins to tackle a Paarl Rock hike in the Rain. It’s an easy hike to and from the peak of this massive boulder, but its slippery when wet. Besides this Monster Rock we explored the Paarl Taal Monument which stands to honour the Afrikaans language. Afrikaans is the youngest language on earth BTW. Then we also popped into the Meulwater Botanical Gardens…. the sun popped out to play for some radically cool flower Macro shots including the King Protea.
9 – Helicopter Ride over Cape Town
Darren Barker, even though feeling a little under the weather went to the waterfront to enjoy a Helicopter Ride of the Atlantic Seaboard. Don’t need to say much more, hop on and go!
8 – Cape Peninsula Day Tour
Dean went on tour with Imagine Travel to see the Cape of Good Hope. Highlights of the day were the penguins, the cliffs but best of all the Baby Baboon that looked right into the camera.
7 – Shopping on Long Street
Long Street, Cape Town is said to be one most dangerous city in the world… we went out to prove otherwise, by meeting the people that work here… If you take your credit cards and wallet with you it will end up empty from all the cool stuff you can buy. Or maybe not, if you have Euros & dollars to spend its one of the most affordable cities in the world not to mention the friendly people and the beauty. Like any major city small crime is a reality, so be vigilant and don’t flash your cash.
6 – Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony
We head down to Boulders Beach in Simons Town about 30min south of Cape Town to check out the Penguins. You really cant get enough of these cute little guys, they are so unusual out of the water, but absolutely unbelievable in the water. Boulders Beach Cape Town is one of the best views in the world and the penguins get to call home. At boulders beach you can get really up close and personal with the penguins.
5 – Nelson Mandela’s Prison Cell on Robben Island
We take to the sea and explore what there is to see on Robben Island. The ferry ride to the island takes half an hour in a spacious double decker boat. Once arriving on the island, tours are divided into two parts: a bus tour, and a walking tour. Both parts of the tour are hosted by experienced guides – some of whom are former prisoners of the island.
4 – Trendy Camps Bay Beach Front
Camps Bay is one of the most popular suburbs in Cape Town. With its picturesque white-sand beach, palm tree boulevard and restaurant strip you could easily think you were in Miami. You can expect volleyball matches, african dances, artists selling their cultural goods, bike rides and fantastic brunches and dinner sunsets!
3 – Hermanus
This Video is the trailer to a 5 part vlog series of Hermanus.
Hermanus is a peaceful seaside village about an hour and a half away from Cape Town. Hermanus offers some of the best whale watching opportunities in the world both from land and sea, but there are many many other fun activities to keep you busy in Hermanus.
